What is CBD?

Every human has an endocannabinoid system (ECS) in their body. It is still being researched but is believed to play an important part in helping regulate numerous physiological and cognitive processes such as appetite, metabolism, mood, sleep, memory, pain, and immune system responses. As the name suggests, cannabinoids are naturally produced in the endocannabinoid system. CBD is one of the major compounds that supports and regulates the ECS by supplementing your body's natural cannabinoids with a plant-based boost.

CBD is cannabidiol

CBD stands for cannabidiol and is a compound found in both marijuana and hemp plants. It is one the two major and most prominent alongside THC. Marijuana is federally illegal, but hemp plants that have under .3% THC content are legal due to the Farm Bill of 2018. Although hemp flowers can be smoked, it is commonly broken down into its main component, CBD. CBD Universe breaks down hemp plants into CBD isolate which is comprised of 99% pure CBD. To refine hemp into isolate, part of the process is creating distillate. Creating distillate involves removing lipids, chlorophyll, waxes, terpenes, and plant waxes that produces an oil that is about 80% CBD.

There are then a few options for isolate once it has been further refined from the distillate. CBD Universe mixes that CBD isolate with other cannabinoid isolates: CBG, CBN, CBC and terpenes to create a brand spectrum powder.

What are Terpenes?

Terpenes are compounds that are produced by the majority of plants and have specific properties associated with them. Classic examples are pinene and limonene which are found in pine woods and lemons that produce the pine and citrus smells. Linalool, from lavender, is commonly incorporated into CBD to mimic the calming effects produced by lavender. CBG and CBN are minor cannabinoids found in marijuana and hemp plants. They are similar to CBD and produce specific therapeutic results without the high associated with marijuana.

Our CBD broad-spectrum powder is used to create high end, safe, and legal products from CBD gummies to CBD face lotion. The mixing of all the isolates produces an entourage effect when used: an effect in which all the cannabinoid and terpene compounds work cohesively to produce the most therapeutic results for your well being.
